CURRICULUM

The curriculum of the school meets or exceeds the specific requirements designated by the State of Pennsylvania. However, all subjects are taught from a Biblical perspective. The school stresses quality education, expecting the best in the way of achievement from each child. Standardized tests are used to assist the school in evaluating each student’s progress. The advantages of our school include the following: (1) dedicated, Christian teachers; (2) Christian environment; (3) use of Christian textbooks; (4) a strong academic emphasis; (5) discipline with love; and (6) low teacher -to- student ratio.

Kindergarten – Our Kindergarten program is for children five years of age. The program offers Bible, reading, mathematical concepts, social studies, music, art, and physical education.

Grades One through Six - The elementary school curriculum includes all the vital subject areas: Bible, reading, phonics, language arts (spelling, English, handwriting), science, history, mathematics, music, art, physical education, etc.

Grades Seven through Twelve - The curriculum for these grades includes Bible, history, science, mathematics, language arts (spelling, English, literature), foreign language, music, physical education, computer education, and other electives.

Testing will be administered and the child placed on a level according to the results of the testing. At VCS, we want to provide opportunities for students to overcome their learning difficulties. It is our belief that this program will help accomplish this purpose.
