PHILOSOPHY

Valley Christian School believes that the only true education is a Christian education. This premise is based upon the fact that only Christian education deals with all the dimensions of life as viewed from the Biblical perspective. Therefore, along with the necessary academic skills our children need to master, we believe it is equally important to instill Godly character in each child.

The education process must involve the development of Christian beliefs, attitudes and skills. The integration of Bible truth is an inseparable and primary part of the total education process. Therefore, Christian concepts will be united with academic skills at Valley Christian School.

Valley Christian School is a ministry of the Valley Baptist Church and it will adhere to the doctrinal statement and standards of Valley Baptist Church. As a school, we seek to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and we will encourage our students to do the same. Therefore, worldliness in any form will not be tolerated.

Christian philosophy is in opposition to the alarming trends in modern secular society which:
- Retract the Bible from society.
- Reject the concrete and personal revelation of God in Jesus Christ.
- Reduce the reality of God to the natural level.
- Rebel against holy and moral regulations found in the Bible.
- Refuse to accept or recognize the validity of religious knowledge and experience.
- Remove the dignity and worth of man as a created being.
- Resist Christian ethics and teachings and believe them to be discriminatory to other religious beliefs and practices.

Christian philosophy is the basis upon which is formed a proper relationship between the family, the church, and the Christian school, and includes the establishment of proper priorities.
= Commitment to Christ
= Commitment to the family
= Commitment to other believers
= Commitment to non-believers
= Commitment to other responsibilities such as vocation, etc

Our Christian philosophy requires that the teachers and staff be born-again Christians. They must understand these basic principles, be personally committed to them, and demonstrate effectiveness in their ability to communicate them.
